‘WannaCry’ Ransomware attack wave 2: Petya

As per our last post regarding the ‘WannaCry’ Ransomware attack we are advising our customers to remain extra vigilant when clicking on links received via email.

This Ransomware attack first encrypts files, then reboots the machine and encrypts the drive. This will leave victims with no access to the machine at all without rebuilding or paying the ransom.

Our key security partner Fortinet has put together a comprehensive blog outlining the Ransomware, advising on how to protect your organisations against such attacks, and provide vital Windows Security Update links for Petya.
