Just about everyone within LAN2LAN is issued with a BlackBerry when they join the organisation, and it can be very interesting observing how these are used to co-ordinate various activities.
I recently had the pleasure of attending a sales meeting in London with two of our corporate sales team. We all met before the meeting at a coffee shop (located via: Google Maps on the BlackBerry) to fortify ourselves with bacons rolls and coffee before the event (timing of meeting: organised via emails on the BlackBerry). The meeting went well and as it was such a lovely day we walked back to Waterloo train station over ground across Westminster Bridge. I have to say that the palace of Westminster was looking fantastic!
We arrived at Waterloo and the sales people caught the train back to Woking, whilst I took a different one as I had taken a slightly different route.
Now it is common practice in our company to ask for someone to collect you from the station, as our office is only 10 minutes away. So sales person #1 sent an email to the entire company asking if someone could collect them from the station. At this point, sales person #2 (sitting next to sales person #1 on the train) replied (to the entire company) "Yes". Unknown to sales person #1, #2 had parked her car at the station that morning!!!
Gota love those corporate communication skills!!!
